I just had to try out the viral TikTok butter board trend recently…..and I kind of love it!! The options are endless with these boards by simply switching up the toppings and garnishes or by switching out the butter for other spreadable cheeses. Serve it up with your favorite bread and a butter or cheese knife…and no double dipping allowed!
I’m quite the fan of a beautiful charcuterie board (traditional or super creative) and feel as though they are always a huge hit at any get together. If we host a family holiday event or dinner party, you can rest assured that there will be some version of a charcuterie board. I can’t wait to display this new butter charcuterie board version this year around the holidays!
Basic Ingredients for this Board
- Butter – Salted or Unsalted depending on preference, just adjust adding additional flakey salt based on your choice
- Chopped pecans – you can use another nut of choice (pine nuts, toasted almonds, or walnuts would be a delicious addition to a butter board)
- Honey
- Microgreens – there are a varitey of microgreen options that can typically be found near the packaged salad mixes in most grocery stores
- Roasted Garlic
- Serve with a crusty artisan bread, crostinis, or crackers – I love serving it with my homemade Sourdough recipe that I will be sharing soon
Other Butter Board Ideas
- Use a flavored or herb butter
- Fresh herbs of your choice – I love using fresh herbs from the garden, but dried herbs will work well too! Think rosemary, chives, oregano, thyme, etc.
- Mix it up by using a whipped cream cheese, goat cheese, or even hummus instead of butter.
- Fruits or Jams – dried cranberries would be so perfect paried with walnuts and a herb infused honey
- Seeds for texture – think pepitas or sesame seeds (I’m planning a sweet potato hummus board with a mix pepitas, fried black eyed peas, and pumpkin oil for Thanksgiving)
- Dried meats
