Strawberry Hearts

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz Fresh Strawberries
  • 10 oz Quality Melting Wafers here I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate melting wafers
  • Decorative bamboo or drink picks

Instructions
 

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries.
  • Hull the strawberries and cut a 'V' into the top of each strawberry.
  • Melt the chocolate wafers by microwaving in 30 second increments, stirring each time, until melted and smooth.
  • Dip individual strawberries by tilting to one side and then the other to allign with the previously cut 'V'.
  • Place on parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set.
  • Insert the decorative pick to create a heart shot by Cupid's arrow.

Notes

Pro tips: 
  • Make sure you do not overheat or burn the chocolate and also avoid moisture coming in contact with the melted chocolate as it will cause the chocolate to seize (causing from a fluid state to a stiff, grainy texture)
  • Use a quality chocolate (I love Ghirardelli chocolate because it melts so smoothly)
